The data foundation

The warehouse, medallion architecture, and semantic layer make up the core layer. Every other component relies on this foundation.

Overview

Our standard starting point

All features on this site, such as search, chat, automation, and forecasting, share the same requirement. Artificial intelligence is fully dependent on its underlying data. When a model receives clean, governed, and well-structured data, its output becomes reliable. If the data includes silos, duplicates, or conflicting versions of past records, the model will produce confident answers that turn out to be incorrect when verified.

Each project begins with the construction of a foundation. The process uses a cloud data warehouse and a medallion architecture to transform data from its raw state into a business-ready format. We also add a semantic layer so that all tools and models share the same definitions for every data point.

Typically, the process requires transferring data from old silos into a cloud environment. It also includes moving machine learning models from outdated infrastructure to platforms built for scaling and monitoring. We carry out both tasks. We view these migrations as upgrades rather than simple transfers. If you are deciding where to move your systems, our guides to data lakehouses and the cloud migration roadmap provide useful starting points.

What you get

What you get

Warehouse and medallion architecture

Data is arranged into governed layers ranging from bronze to silver to gold. This arrangement guarantees that users know the refinement level of the data they use.

Moving without service interruptions

Automated pipelines move data while live systems remain operational. Each dataset is validated, versioned, and verified throughout this process.

Modernising machine learning models

We transferred existing models to cloud-native environments. These environments deliver improved runtime efficiency, reproducibility, and monitoring. We confirmed that the models perform as well as or better than they previously did.

Governance and data lineage

We deliver full data lineage, encryption, and access control throughout the entire system. This guarantees that the foundation immediately satisfies audit requirements.

Method

Our delivery process

  1. Evaluate and prepare

We audit your data sources, models, formats, and dependencies, and then define a migration path that matches your workloads and stack.

  2. Clean and prepare

We standardise schemas, eliminate duplication, and validate integrity before transferring any data. Migrating disorganised data creates a quicker version of the same problem.

  3. Migrate and transform

Data and models are transferred to the target environment while operations remain ongoing. These assets are packaged and containerised when this enhances the safety of the transfer.

  4. Verify and protect

We verified accuracy, completeness, and access controls in line with compliance and quality standards. We benchmarked the models for latency, throughput, and accuracy.

  5. Track and adjust capacity

Observability, automated updates, and MLOps practices keep the foundation reliable as workloads and use cases grow.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What types of data are you able to migrate?

Structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data such as databases, files, logs, and documents. We create migration paths for cloud, hybrid, on-prem, and multi-cloud environments.

Will there be downtime during the migration?

Downtime is either minimal or nonexistent. The majority of migrations operate concurrently with your live systems. Validation checkpoints and checksum verification ensure that the data arrives complete and consistent.

Can you also move our machine learning models?

We transfer traditional machine learning models as well as fine-tuned large language models. Each model is validated before and after the transition to confirm that performance stays the same or improves. Typically, model migrations require between 2 and 6 weeks to complete.

When will we have a usable version?

Most clients have structured and usable datasets within 2 to 4 weeks after starting the process. We then construct the full foundation in phases, guided by specific use cases.

What is a medallion architecture?

This approach arranges a data platform into three separate layers. The bronze layer holds raw data in its original form. The silver layer includes data that has been cleaned and validated. The gold layer stores data modelled for particular business requirements. Each layer incorporates governance standards so users know the refinement level of the data they access.
